Lack of good movies

Hi there !

These days it's hard to find good movies. So, I opened my old cupboard
and pull out the drawer... and there are my favorite VCD - a Korean drama which I bought about RM 80.00 ---Winter's Sonata.this drama consists 20 CD's. Then another of my favorite drama - a Japanese - Pride. Another is a Chinese drama - Part I and Part 2. I bought it RM 140.00. The title of this Chinese drama is A Step Into The Past. So I finish my leisure time watching these CD's.

Recently,I watched this movies --- The Covenant. It's said --- the Genre is Horror. I think movies which is in this genre must be movies such as Dracula, Frankestein, Salem's Lot, Exocist and many more. This film, was more like the tv series Charmed whic cannot be catogerized as horror.
You will never jumped from your sit. But you can try go watch it.

THE COVENANT
Release date:02 Nov 2006

Cast: Steven Strait, Laura Ramsey, Taylor Kitsch and Wendy Crewson

Director: Renny Harlin

Genre: Horror

Can he make it ?

The year 2004...
South East Asia (end of the year), the Tsunami hits and left hundred of thousands people dead.
The year 2005...'tsuMawi' hits Malaysia,
...leaving gals screaming

...leaving guys laughing and crying with envy

He was a phenomenon. They called him the King of SMS (short message system) and the King of Ambassador (product promotion). He is Asmawi bin Ani aka Mawi. Popular with the slogan 'Mawi World'.

He has been a successful singer and is now trying or offered to act in a film named after his popular hits 'Aduh Saliha'. He agreed on 1 condition - no romantic role for him. Because it's uncomfortable for him.

Can he make it ??? Leave your opinion or views in Comments

An epic

Ben-Hur

I like this film especially Charlton Heston as Judah Ben-Hur. Since watching this film
I'd like to watch films where Charlton Heston was the actor.

But the most impressive part of the film, to me, is the

chariot race.

Ben-Hur

It stars Charlton Heston as Judah Ben-Hur and Stephen Boyd as Messala.
It premiered at Loews Theater in New York City on November 18, 1959.
It went on to win eleven Academy Awards, including best picture for 1959,
a feat equaled only by Titanic (1997) and The Lord of the Rings:
Return of the King (2003).

Dracula

This actor had acted in many films, but he was well known as the King of Vampires. I had watched many dracula films but I think Lee is the best

Dracula.

Christopher Lee

born Christopher Frank Carandini Lee
on May 27, 1922 in London, England

His height (6'4) and face made him a 'good' Dracula.

Super heroes always win

I'd like to watch super hero films when I was a kid.
There are many super heroes such as Superman, Ultraman, Spiderman, Zorro

My favorite superman is

Christopher Reeve

Date of birth
25 September 1952
New York, New York, USA
Date of death
10 October 2004
Mount Kisco, New York, USA. (heart attack)

But I prefer the Superman of today in the Smallville tivi series

Every kids love

Zorro

Spiderman

Ultraman

bAT Man

and other super heroes. WHY ?

It's because THE GOOD MAN WINS and
THE BAD MAN LOSE...
THE BAD MAN LOSE...
THE BAD MAN LOSE...

Baby and Jackie

Jackie Chan returns with another action-packed thriller,
this time with a young child co-star in tow.

Rob-B-Hood revolves around a little bundle of joy who brings
a thieving trio to their knees and turns their world upside down,
providing a rousing mix of comedy, a touch of heart-breaking drama,
backbreaking stunts, and a dash of romance.

Megastar

In my younger days, Hindustani films were the most popular, the young and old
like it. Today, it's still the same. My favorite actor, then, was

Sashi Kaapor.
Rajesh Khanna (he's a handsome actor) was also my favorite. Then there were also
Amitabh Bachan, Dhramendra and others. The beautiful actresses 'were Sharmila Tagore,
Praveen Babi, Hema Malini,

Zeenat Aman

and others.

The 'bad guy' I admire most is

Prem Chopra.

Anybody out there who was not angry when looking at this person in his films? Leave it in Comment.

Those were the days my friend ...

Today...

The megastar of Bollywood---

I watched several of his movies...

My son also watched a few of his movies and told me that this actor
would never act in a film which needs him express an angry face.
But then I watched the movie Asoka and gave it to him to watch it. He was greatly suprised
by the ability of this actor.

Shah Rukh Khan

(also known as SRK or King Khan,
born November 2, 1965, New Delhi, India,
is a popular Indian actor.
Time magazine stated that he was probably
the most recognizable movie star in the world
in their October 2004 edition (3.2 billion fan following).
He is also the highest paid actor in Bollywood,
after being paid a whopping 12 crores for Don.

Legends

I'd like to talk about films that I had watched. If I'm not mistaken, the most film that I watched in cinemas is Chinese Boxer. I watched it 6 times. That was a long time ago. Besides thatI like to watch Alexander Fu Sheng in The Shoalin Temple and Five Shoalin Master. He's like Jackie Chan.
The big names:-

Jet Li

Alexander Fu Sheng

Jackie Chan

However I would like to highlight about someone who had become
a legend in the Chinese film industry.

The man who introduced kung-fu to the world--

Bruce Lee.

Chen Kaige --- The Promise

Today, after my Maghrib prayer, I sat infront of the tv and tuned in the Discovery Channel. Then, there was a documentary about Chen Kaige. For about an hour I watched the documentary which touches the work of Chen Kaige in making films. Actually I had watched one of his films in 2005 and still kept the VCD ---The Promise.

After I had finished watching this documentary, I realized that the only person in Malaysia who can match

Chen Kaige
is

P. Ramlee.

That's my humble opinion.

About films - Malay films

It's been a long time that I've not watched Malay films. So I think there would be much progress since then. I just read their previews in the local paper. This blog of mine - www.mybolehwood.blogspot.com is meant to write something about Malaysian films and other films that I watched and also about other people opinions of certain films.

That's all for now.
